Woodside Energy’s Scarborough energy project has achieved a major engineering milestone with the joining together of the topsides and hull for the Floating Production Unit (FPU).Constructed separately at two different fabrication yards in China, the joining of the two mega-structures is a significant step forward for the Scarborough energy project as it progresses towards first liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargo, targeted for the second half of 2026.The floatover required precise planning and extensive collaboration by all stakeholders.

Texas-based subsea oil and gas equipment supplier Trendsetter Engineering has marked the first deployment of its Trident 20,000 psi (20K) intervention system at Beacon Offshore’s Shenandoah project in the Gulf of America.The Trident 20K intervention system was deployed from Transocean’s Deepwater Atlas drillship for a two-well flowback operation at the deepwater Shenandoah project.Trendsetter wet-hopped the Trident 20K system between wells, significantly reducing operational costs and saving the client several days of critical path rig time.

Newbuild USV Challenger Getting Ready for Remote-Controlled Subsea Work

Ocean services provider DeepOcean, with its joint venture partners Solstad Offshore and Østensjø Rederi, has taken delivery of a newbuild uncrewed surface vessel (USV), which will be used for subsea survey, inspection, maintenance and repair (IMR) work across offshore energy industries.The vessel - named USV Challenger - will shortly arrive at DeepOcean’s subsea base at Killingøy in Norway, where it will undergo trials of its launch and recovery system (LARS) for the onboard ROV.The USV Challenger is 24 meters long and 7.5 meters wide.

Crane specialist Liebherr has supplied two offshore cranes to Yinson Production, which will support the operations of Agogo floating production storage and offloading unit (FPSO) at Azule Energy’s field offshore Angola.Two offshore cranes of the type RL 2600 (Ram Luffing 2600) and RL-K 2600 (Ram Luffing knuckle boom 2600) have been sold to Yinson Production, which is in charge of the provision, operation and maintenance of the Agogo FPSO.The cranes, with a maximum lifting capacity of up to 30 tonnes and a maximum boom outreach of over 30 metres each
